Talking to Your Pets or Your Plants Means You’re Smart

According to science, people who talk with their pets, to their plants, speak sweet nothings to their cars, etc. have a higher intelligence. Many people look at pet owners or plant enthusiasts as if they are crazy when they talk to them as if they are human, however, a behavior scientist at Chicago University found that science reveals quite the opposite. People who talk to their pets or other inanimate objects tend to be smarter and quote, “Recognizing the mind in other animals, a god, or even a gadget . . . is a reflection of our brain’s greatest ability, rather than a sign of our stupidity.” People who do this regularly also understand the importance of the human bond and connection.

So, the next time you want to talk to your car, your pet, your plants, or your furniture for stubbing your toe…go for it! It means you’re smart.
